Serbia’s Novak Djokovic beat Rafael Nadal, the world leader, for the Wimbledon men’s title, his first. After winning the first two sets, Djokovic’s odds seemed to waver in the third set, which he lost to Nadal 1–6. His rally in the fourth clinched him the win, following on yesterday’s upset in the Wimbledon women’s tournament, which saw the Czech Republic’s Petra Kvitova win her first title against former champion Maria Sharapova.
