Veteran city councilwoman Janice Hahn, a Democrat whose brother James once served as Los Angeles mayor, won a special election held on Tuesday for the California congressional seat vacated by Jane Harman, a Democrat who recently left Congress to become the president of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars. Hahn defeated Craig Huey, a tea-party-affiliated Republican, as well as that guy who made the crazy ad about Koreans. In other news, Huey’s a quitter: With results showing “an apparently insurmountable lead” for Hahn, Huey conceded the election shortly before midnight. [Caucus/NYT, Reuters]
