Maybe that’s why the always hard-up federal government rents from him: Biden has collected $13,000 since April for renting a seaside cottage to the Secret Service, right next door to his Delaware home. It’s the cottage where Biden’s mom used to live; previously, the Secret Service had been renting other residential properties in Wilmington while protecting the vice-president. Biden is probably also the kind of landlord who comes by to fix a leaky faucet and stays for hours just chatting about nothing even though it’s clear that you’re busy and don’t really have much of an opinion on the Jets’ passing game at all, so it’ll be interesting to see if the Secret Service sticks around when their lease is up in 2013.
