On the one hand, hooray! Most people no longer have a problem with interracial marriage! But still — it’s pretty shocking that it’s taken this long. Only 60 percent of white people approved of interracial marriage as recently as ten years ago?
As usual, in matters of tolerance, the Olds are dragging our numbers down. Among people ages 18–49, 97 percent support interracial marriage. Among people 65 and older, it’s only 66 percent.
