The Bowery Poetry Club hosted the thirteenth annual Mr. Lower East Side Pageant this week, featuring an array of contestants pledging allegiance to their idea of the ever-changing neighborhood. A talent portion was required, as were swimsuit and eveningwear segments. You know what that means! (Chest hair.) The winner walked away with a crown made of beer cans and a slice of pizza. Who said downtown is dead?
