After ten years, the appropriately-named corpse plant, a native of the island of Sumatra, will finally bloom later this week in Cornell’s Kenneth Post greenhouse, at which point it will emit a smell similar to that of rotting meat. If you can’t make it up to Ithaca, try searching the back of your fridge for some leftovers you forgot about months ago and hold them up to your face as you watch the corpse plant on a livestream.
