Rick Santorum Would Totally Be Romney’s VP

MESA, AZ - FEBRUARY 22: Republican presidential candidates former U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum (L) and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney sing the national anthem at a debate sponsored by CNN and the Republican Party of Arizona at the Mesa Arts Center February 22, 2012 in Mesa, Arizona. The debate is the last one scheduled before voters head to the polls in Michigan and Arizona's primaries on February 28 and Super Tuesday on March 6. (Photo by Ethan Miller/Getty Images)

Rick Santorum — the same candidate who won’t admit that it’s increasingly unlikely he’ll win the nomination and who’s been giving stump speeches referring to Mitt Romney as “the worst” Republican to take on Obama (either on health care or generally, depending on if you believe the New York Times) — wouldn’t say no to being the bottom half of that “worst” ticket. As he told CBN’s David Brody, he wouldn’t rule out running as Mitt’s vice-president. In fact, he’d “of course” consider it.  “I’ll do whatever is necessary to help our country,” said Santorum, which translates roughly from political speak to English as “Please?!?!?!?!?”
