A Manhattan judge has ordered the Bloomberg administration to release a report on the city’s 911 response system, despite the mayor’s assertion that it’s preliminary, and may not be entirely accurate. (Others believe it’s just full of bad — potentially “nuclear” — news.) Today, Supreme Court Justice Arthur Engoron compared the city’s secrecy reasoning to Richard Nixon during Watergate and ruled that they must turn the info over to FDNY unions within a week, although that doesn’t necessarily mean the findings will become public. Engoron even mocked the city as he prepped his order, telling the lawyers, “This is just a draft. I can’t reveal it.”
