A new Quinnipiac poll shows President Obama leading Mitt Romney in reliably-blue New Jersey by nine points. But with Chris Christie as his running mate, Romney would … still lose, by seven points. Of course, carrying New Jersey wouldn’t be Romney’s motivation for picking Christie anyway. It would be more about getting someone on the ticket who is more exciting than a pile of napkins.
