It’s a match made in publicity heaven: Political pop star and professional provocateur M.I.A. has teamed up with WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, composing music for his new talk show, which premieres next week. The World Tomorrow will air Tuesday on RT (previously known as Russia Today) and features a “top-secret guest list,” according to the network, including those “who normally simply would not be given a voice on TV at all.” Hopefully with M.I.A. involved there will be dancing too, like on Ellen

M.I.A., who is of Sri Lankan Tamil descent and favors revolutionary imagery, met Assange in London, Forbes reports, where he’s been under house arrest for over a year, facing possible extradition to Sweden on accusations of sexual assault. “MIA is the Julian Assange of pop music,” WikiLeaks tweeted today. On New Year’s Eve 2010, M.I.A. released a mixtape called Vicki Leekx inspired by the embattled secret-sharing organization. Today she followed up with a link to the show’s website and the message, “julian assange borrowed my computer last week , im still FREAKING OUT !!!!!” She seems really psyched.
