The Secret Service Scandal Isn’t Quite Exciting Enough for Chuck Grassley

Earlier today, Republican Senator Chuck Grassley was on Iowa Public Radio to discuss the White House’s internal review of the Secret Service scandal, which cleared its staff of any misconduct in Colombia. The announcement, which did not include the details of the report, was not to the senator’s satisfaction, apparently because he believes incidents related to the president’s safety and national security should be dealt with more transparently. Or maybe because he’s worried he’s missing the good stuff.

We’re looking at something that is very, very serious when national security might not be protected properly,” Grassley told Radio Iowa. “Who knows who might be using prostitutes? The Russians are famous for that to get information out of us.”

Who knows? Chuck Grassley is famous for knowing about history, after all.
