Michael Bloomberg might love his helicopters dearly, but his neighbors don’t. The Post reports on a WABC/Channel 7 exposé detailing the sixteen times that Bloomberg has flown his chopper into the East 34th Street helipad after the 8 p.m. curfew. He’s also just been using it a lot lately as his final term glides, like his small plane, towards the ground — eight times last weekend alone.
One neighbor kvetched to the paper, “If you’re concerned about the quality of life in this city, then don’t land a helicopter in front of my apartment with the choking exhaust and intolerable noise when it’s closed.” Louis the XVI and Julius Caesar never had to deal with this bullshit! So how long until the heliport, which is city-owned, gets a later curfew?
