The head of Luka Magnotta’s Canadian victim is still missing and so is the torso of a 66-year-old gay man killed on a hiking trail near the famed Hollywood sign this January. Police recovered only Hervey Medellin’s dismembered hands and feet in a Hollywood park. The Los Angeles Police Department reached out to Canadian officials to explore a possible link between the two brutal murders, and received confirmation that Magnotta was in Los Angeles at the time of Medellin’s death. The Toronto Sun reports that Magnotta might have been working as a prostitute in Los Angeles. “The body parts are the common denominator here,” said LAPD spokesman, Officer Lyle Knight. Magnotta remains in Berlin where prosecutors are deciding whether to extradite him back to Canada.
