The MTA has been holding out on smothered, sweaty riders in oppressively hot subway stations, according to NY1. The news channel reports that New York City Transit previously used a “secret weapon” — a giant fan intended to remove smoke in case of a fire — to cool down two of the city’s hottest stations several years ago. Said a miserably hot rider at a fan-less station in Washington Heights, “I wish I had an ice pack jacket on.” Brookstone actually sells ice jackets, but only for bottles. Perhaps an entire coat comprised of ice bottle jackets?
