A week after questioning Biden’s “mental capacity,” Giuliani issued another assessment of the vice-president’s brainpower on CBS’s Face the Nation. “Oh, no, I don’t think he’s nuts,” the former New York City mayor helpfully explained. “I’m just saying I wonder if he’s got the kind of balance — probably what I should have said is the balance to be president of the United States.” He went on to say that he thinks the media is soft on Biden’s tendency toward gaffes, adding that the press “would be going crazy” if say, Sarah Palin had made the vice-president’s now sort of infamous “chains” remark. As he put it, “Maybe I was just trying to even up the score a little bit.”
