As millions of NFL fans shake their fists in vain over the league’s hapless crew of replacement referees, Steven Sweeney, the president of New Jersey’s State Senate, has decided to do something about it. The Democrat says he will introduce a bill next week banning replacement refs from officiating games in the state. We assume that, in an alternate universe where this legislation actually becomes law, the Jets and Giants would be forced to play “home” games elsewhere until the referee lockout is resolved. That would be great for New Jersey.
