Rioters Chant ‘Obama, Obama, We Are All Osamas,’ Burn Stuff at U.S. Embassy in Tunisia

Smoke rises from the burning vehicles at the car park of the US embassy in Tunis during a protest against a film mocking Islam on September 14, 2012. The demonstrators, acting aggressively, managed to clamber over one of the walls round the mission, near the car park where several vehicles had been set ablaze, the photographer said.

The latest heartwarming development from the Muslim world: Rioters in Tunisia — the original site of the Arab Spring — managed to infiltrate the U.S. embassy grounds today and set fire to cars and trees, despite a genuine effort by the local police to repel them. Either two or three demonstrators have been killed by security forces, according to state media. Reuters reports that the protesters, “many of whom were Islamic Salafists, also set fire to the nearby American School, which was closed at the time, and took away laptops and tablet computers.” They chanted “Obama, Obama, we are all Osamas.”
