Frank Rich on Maddow: GOP Changing Its Tune on Latino Voters

Expect to see the GOP fight to win over Latino voters in the next election, and not just by having the candidate’s son say a few sentences in Spanish. “This is the last cycle we’re going to see where they’re talking about self-deportation, and building a fence, and the Arizona law — I think that’s going to be over,” Frank Rich told Rachel Maddow on Monday night. George W. Bush managed to win 40 percent of the Latino vote in 2004, but Republicans “locked themselves into this mess this year with antagonizing the entire Latino population with these draconian positions,” says Rich. “I just don’t think that’s going to be repeated.”
