Federal investigators are now looking into whether David Petraeus directed staffers to pass sensitive documents to Paula Broadwell, but that isn’t the former CIA director’s only problem these days. Friends tell the New York Times that since the scandal broke he’s been reduced to hanging around the house, hitting the stationary bike, and chatting with friends on the phone. “He kept such a grueling schedule. This is unchartered territory for him right now,” said a friend. “Several of us are concerned,” added another confidant. “He’s a very active individual. He needs to stay active.” For now he’s mulling his next career move, which friends say might be writing a book on leadership. Good to see this scandal hasn’t soured him on the publishing world.
