Do you have the stomach for another sports PED bombshell? We’re not sure we do, but nonetheless: The Miami New Times has a big one this morning. The paper reports that a Miami clinic named Biogenesis — called “the East Coast BALCO” — has been supplying scores of baseball players with human growth hormone for several years now … and hey, guess who one of them is. Yep: Alex Rodriguez. According to the story, A-Rod’s name comes up repeatedly in internal documents, with complete regiments and dosages for several drugs, including a damning note featuring a regiment of ” “1.5/1.5 HGH (sports perf.) creams test., glut., MIC, supplement, sports perf. Diet.” It apparently started in 2009 — not long after A-Rod’s infamous big, ugly press conference with a scowling Jeter nearby — and continued until as recently as last year. Other players named in the report include Melky Cabrera, Gio Gonzalez, Nelson Cruz, and Yasmani Grandal, recently suspended 50 games for having elevated testosterone levels. But no one’s gonna care about any of them: This is just gonna be about A-Rod. Strap in. We’re gonna go through all this crap again. (UPDATE: A-Rod is flat denying the report. His rep says he was never a patient at the clinic and that he has no relationship with the Dr. Anthony Bosch, the man at the center of the whole deal. The denial is pretty unequivocal, so let’s see what happens next.)
