After more than three decades in the Senate, Michigan Democrat Carl Levin announced today that, though he will serve out the remainder of his term, he will not run for reelection in 2014. Levin will be 80 years old by the end of his sixth and final term, but rumors have it that Levin settled on retirement after his glasses, which have been slowly sliding down his face since 1979, finally fell to the floor, and he figured he might as well call it a day.
As you can see, it was only a matter of time.
