33-year-old Anthony Alexander caused a major commotion in Bed-Stuy on Friday afternoon, when he shot himself in the head after trying to slam his black Lexus into the NYPD’s 81st Precinct station house. (He hit an unmarked police car instead.) A police source told the New York Daily News that Alexander’s girlfriend, who recently reported that he had abused her, called to say that he was coming: “While she was on the phone, he drove in … [Three cops] had to jump out of the way.” Though Alexander is now in Kings County Hospital in critical condition, the NYPD source pointed out that the suicide attempt “has no relevance to the fact that he allegedly committed a domestic violence incident.”
