This’ll Be Mariano Rivera’s Last Season

As many had expected, Mariano Rivera will announce this will be his final season in a press conference on Saturday in Tampa. Many felt last year would have been his last year had he not been injured shagging flies in May, but he wouldn’t want to quit on the disabled list. Rivera is baseball’s all-time saves leader but is probably more famous for his postseason dominance. He’ll be 44 in November and, we suspect, will never want to hear “Enter Sandman” again. Enjoy him this final season, particularly because he’s the only Yankee who won’t get hurt.
