After ten days of treatment for pneumonia, the 94-year-old former president of South Africa returned to his Johannesburg home via military ambulance “following a sustained and gradual improvement in his general condition.” The Nobel laureate’s hospital stay was his third in four months, thanks to the chronic lung problems he’s had since contracting tuberculosis as a political prisoner.
