Anthony Weiner’s new campaign manager, Danny Kedem, doesn’t have much New York experience, but he’s the one who said “yes” after Weiner reached out to several more experienced operators who turned him down, Politico reports. The former U.S. representative is expected to announce his candidacy as soon as next week, now that he’s getting staffed up. But according to Politico’s Maggie Haberman, that staffing wasn’t easy: “The sources said Weiner or his surrogates had reached out to a number of potential press hires with experience in high-pressure races or in New York City, and a number of them passed on interviewing for a job.” Luckily, Kedem isn’t totally green. He worked for four months on Mark Murphy’s failed congressional run in Staten Island last year, so this already-manic mayoral race should be a cakewalk.
