After dropping off Georgina Bloomberg from a Knicks game in 2010 as a member of the mayor’s security team, NYPD officer Leopold McLean admitted in court yesterday that he shot at his girlfriend’s pesky ex, who may have had a knife, hitting him in the behind. “Looking back now, I should have told them I fired my weapon,” he understated. “I didn’t report the shooting because I didn’t want the focus to be on me or the unit.” What happens off duty stays off duty, except when it’s really illegal.
