Mayor Bloomberg added not one but two properties to his spread in Southampton, reporters eventually learned on Thursday, after the mayor’s redacted tax returns showed the acquisition of just one property. After the press corps left the annual rite of viewing the mayor’s financial statements and started writing stories about the new property he had added to his previous eleven, a member of his staff sent out an email informing them that the mayor had actually picked up two properties: a house and a 4.8-acre parcel of land. Both are adjacent to his 35-acre Southampton estate, but they had overlooked one.
