After identifying a suspect earlier this week, police in New Orleans have arrested Akein Scott for Sunday’s Mother’s Day parade shooting. According to CNN, Police Superintendent Ronal Serpas said this is not the 19-year-old suspect ‘s first time at the rodeo jailhouse — past charges include narcotics and firearm possessions and resisting arrest; Scott was last arrested in March. After playing a decidedly un-fun version of law enforcement Goldilocks — police searched for their suspect at three different addresses before locating him — photos pulled from Sunday’s surveillance video were released along with a $10,000 reward, leading to the shooter’s arrest. The injury toll from Sunday’s tragedy still stands at 19 with, fortunately, no fatalities.
