Holiday weekend traffic got even more horrific on Monday evening when an abandoned SUV with no license plates was found in a Manhattan-bound lane on the Brooklyn Bridge. Police shut down traffic on the bridge in both directions from about 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. while they tried to determine whether the car posed a threat. No explosives were found in the vehicle, and investigators are still trying to figure out how and why it was left on the bridge.
