The backstory of the ongoing Chris Christie–Rand Paul beef is this: A few days ago, Chris Christie blasted the “dangerous” strain of libertarianism — which is promoted most prominently by Rand Paul — growing within the GOP. Paul replied that Chrisite was being “sad and cheap,” and claimed he was “bankrupting the government” by greedily asking for Sandy recovery money.
Today, Christie offered his rejoinder, and it is absolutely dripping with disdain for Paul, as if there was nobody he respected less in the entire world. 2016 is going to be amazing.
Update, 6:12 p.m.: Paul just called Christie “the king of bacon.” Wink wink.
