In an interview with The New Republic, a once-again mavericky John McCain refers to Hillary Clinton — a target of his criticism during the Benghazi controversy — as a “rock star” who did a “fine job” as secretary of State and was “widely regarded throughout the world.” And asked who he’d support in a Clinton vs. Rand Paul presidential race, McCain laughed and said, “It’s gonna be a tough choice.” Of course, that last part says as much about McCain’s admiration for Clinton as it does about his irritation with the GOP’s “wacko birds.”
