As requested by the NAACP, the Justice Department announced on Sunday that it is looking into the shooting of Trayvon Martin to determine if federal prosecutors should file criminal civil rights charges against George Zimmerman. The decision will be based on the examination of evidence and testimony produced in Zimmerman’s Florida trial, as well as materials gathered during a previous federal probe of the matter, which was put on hold last year so that state prosecutors could move forward.
