Meet the wonderfully tiny southern pudu — the world’s smallest, endangered type of deer — born recently at the Queens Zoo and introduced to the world today by the Wildlife Conservation Society. She weighed just one pound at birth but when she’s done nursing will upgrade to a fortifying organic diet of fresh leaves, grain, kale, carrots, and hay. May no one ever create a parody Twitter account in her honor.
This magical creature does not yet have a name! Think of something really cute.
