Even though some kind of limited military strike against Syria seems fairly imminent now, President Obama told PBS today that he has “not made a decision” about whether or how to retaliate against the Assad regime for (seemingly) using chemical weapons on its own people. At the same time, Obama said that the “international norm against the use of chemical weapons needs to be kept in place,” and offered that a military strike against Assad would, if it happens, send the Assad regime a “pretty strong signal.” Reading between the lines is barely necessary.
