The New York Daily News followed up its montage of the mayoral candidates telling jokes by asking them to sing the Star Spangled Banner, and the same 10 were game (absent Weiner, again). But even with popsicle-stick humor they would all have a better time on stage at the Comedy Cellar than at Yankee Stadium before a game. That is, all but Adolfo Carrión, who not only got all the words right (a rarity in this crowd) but gave a stirringly on-tune rendition. However, even he fell just a touch flat at the end. In their defense, it is a damned difficult piece of music for anyone.
