Despite all of the reports you’ve read to the contrary — which were based off information from law enforcement officials — Washington Navy Yard gunman Aaron Alexis used a shotgun and two handguns to carry out his deadly rampage, but not an AR-15, the controversial semiautomatic assault rifle that was also used in Newtown and Aurora. Because the only thing that matters is the most recent massacre, this is definitive proof that assault weapons should not be banned.
