The landlord and tenant who the city fined $2,400 for hosting an Airbnb guest won’t have to pay after all, now that Airbnb helped them successfully appeal the decision. On Friday, Airbnb announced the fine had been overturned. “If the fine had stuck, it would have set a business-threatening precedent for Airbnb in the city,” TechCrunch writes. And with $1 billion in sales projected for 2013, it was well worth it for the apartment-sharing site to provide legal support.
