After the mysterious misquote that led Sen. Dick Durbin to post on his Facebook wall that a Republican congressman (rumored to be Pete Sessions) had said to the president, “I cannot stand to look at you,” the Senate majority whip removed the quote Monday. “They gave me a bad quote and then they said it didn’t occur,” Durbin said of his decision to take down the contentious quote ten days after he posted it. “Now it’s history, it’s behind us.”
