The pope’s message was in response to a note sent by a Jewish leader and son of Holocaust survivors Menachem Rosensaft to the Vatican. As Stephen Colbert said at last night’s charity dinner, if Pope Francis were there, “His Humbleness would be out washing the feet of the coat-check guy or something. We get it, you’re modest.” The man’s charm offensive just keeps going — he may actually be this empathetic!
