George W. Bush Tackles Portraits of Other Humans, Starting With Jay Leno

George W. Bush appeared on The Tonight Show Tuesday to share important news about his art (and something about about health initiatives in Africa): He’s done a portrait of Jay Leno. Apparently, Bush’s Pet Period is coming to a close, and after experimenting with a painting of himself as a dog and two bathtub self-portraits, he’s moved on to other humans. Frankly, the work itself is disappointingly one-dimensional, but hopefully this will lead to paintings as profound as Barney staring longingly through the White House fence. Maybe Vladimir Putin’s face reflected in a Super Bowl ring? Dick Cheney trapped inside his man-sized safe?
