In a major shakeup for The New York Times Magazine, and a scoop for the recently revamped Capital New York, editor Hugo Lindgren is reportedly planning to leave his post at the magazine’s helm by the end of this year. Neither Lindgren nor The Times commented for Capital, but neither denied to reporter Matt Lynch that the move was taking place. “Speculation about Lindgren’s future at the magazine has been swirling for some time now, with multiple sources suggesting in recent months that he could be on his way out,” Lynch reports. Lindgren, who previously worked as editorial director at New York and then executive editor of Bloomberg Businessweek, joined The Times Magazine in late 2010. The move was a triumphant return, in a way, to the publication where he worked as an editor before leaving for New York.
