A report from the Daily News that Toronto Mayor Rob Ford was “waving his hands” and “shaking his portly body” during a visit to the West Toronto Church of God on Sunday may lead you to think more hilarious shenanigans are in store. However, a video posted by a member of the congregation shows the poor guy doing the minimal amount of swaying and clapping required during such an exuberant scene. Okay, another parishioner did tweet that Ford “smells like ganja” but this is still the sort of behavior we should be encouraging. At the end of the video, a congregant notes that Ford’s “lost some weight,” so it seems he’s conquering his only real demon and is on the road to redemption.
