Chief Chris Christie defender Rudy Giuliani, who’s successfully used the scandal to get noticed again by staking out the riskiest position (because really, what does he have to lose?), thinks Christie could have been aware of the traffic-jam plan after all. “It’s fifty-fifty,” he shrugged today in conversation with Geraldo Rivera. Eh, does it really matter? “I like Chris very much and he’s being unfairly treated, and he’s a good friend,” Giuliani added. Besides, “The reality is, even if you are a hands-on mayor or governor or chief executive, at best you must know about 10 or 20 percent of what’s going on,” he said. “Otherwise, you’d never get through the day.” Who among us can keep track of all our revenge schemes at once?
