Following up on his bold stand against calling the president a “subhuman mongrel,” Senator Rand Paul gently admonished fellow conservatives while speaking at a tea party event on Thursday. “There are times, and I don’t think it is our movement, but there are times when people are using language that shouldn’t be used. I recently criticized someone for using some of that language,” he said, alluding to Ted Nugent. “I’m not going to bring it up, but I will say, we can disagree with the president without calling him names.” Paul added, “We can disagree. I disagree with [Obama] almost all the time, OK, but I don’t call him names, and I’m polite to him when I meet him.” When Paul wants to insult an enemy he takes the gentleman’s approach: thinking up a biting fat pun and challenging him to a duel.
