The New Jersey committee investigating Bridgegate issued eighteen new subpoenas on Monday, including a demand for state police records on Chris Christie’s helicopter travel during the traffic jam. A Christie spokesman said the governor flew home from a September 11 event in New York City, but denied he’s ever been on a helicopter with former Port Authority official David Wildstein. The flight logs usually note departure and arrival times and the names of passengers, but they probably won’t tell us if anyone on board peered out at the traffic in Fort Lee and let out a Mr. Burns-esque “excellent.”
