Ice falling off the World Trade Center in “softball” or maybe even soccer-ball-sized chunks led police to close down the West Side Highway for hours on Wednesday, the latest ice-related inconvenience to beset the tower this winter. Earlier this month, the PATH station there had to close due to falling ice, and workers were building a protective cover for it last week. With the temperature getting warmer, this is probably going to keep happening until all the ice falls off the building. Hopefully soon.
