Like many of the United States’s most unhinged conservatives, anti-Obama crusader, “documentarian,” and current subject of a campaign-finance fraud investigation Dinesh D’Souza is still offended by the president’s recent appearance on Zach Galifianakis’s “Between Two Ferns.” So, as any good American would, D’Souza made an elaborate parody of it, with himself spliced into Galifianakis’s seat. (Those filmmaking skills really came in handy.)
He starts out by referring to Vladimir Putin as “the leader of the free world” before asking Obama, “What’s it like to have a golf game that sucks as bad as your presidency?” and doling out some not-very-sick burns about HealthCare.gov. In the clip’s most profoundly disturbing moment, D’Souza suggests that he has “the stars and stripes” tattooed on his genitals. About halfway through, the video segues into a trailer for D’Souza’s latest film, America. “Obama decided to try his hand at satire by going on that show, so we decided to play along,” D’Souza told told The Hollywood Reporter. “I believe that we have produced something that is funnier than the original.” Like most of D’Souza’s beliefs, that one is questionable.
