A ballot measure to allow the issuing of drone-hunting licenses in Deer Trail, Colorado (number of registered voters: 348), lost badly on Tuesday: Though “some residents” told the Denver Post that the proposed legislation was more of a “public display of frustration concerning government surveillance” than it was a serious bid to shoot the spying machines out of the sky, 73 percent of those who participated in the vote didn’t want to take the chance of someone actually doing it. Or, perhaps, they just didn’t want to get on the drones’ bad side.
