Tuesday morning begins with a workplace mass shooting at a FedEx warehouse in Kennesaw, Georgia, where at least six people have been hospitalized with a range of injuries. Their exact conditions are not yet known. Police were called in before 6 a.m. and a search for the gunman ended hours later as he was declared dead. “We have one individual that is deceased that we are describing as the suspect,” said a Cobb County officer, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “He is probably deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was located in the bay area of FedEx. We are completing the ground floor sweep at this point with the assistance of K-9.”
“I tell people on my other shift, one of these days a manager is gonna say that one thing to that one person and this is gonna set them off, and they gonna come in here and start shooting, and that happened today,” a 22-year-old employee told Mashable, calling the managers at the facility “rude.”
“FedEx is aware of the situation,” the company said in a statement. “Our primary concern is the safety and wellbeing of our team members, first responders and others affected. FedEx is cooperating with authorities.”
