The hunt by 26 nations for the missing jet will likely become “the most expensive search in aviation history,” according to a Reuters estimate, with about $44 million used so far and hundreds of millions potentially spent before it’s over. “We have at least several days of intense actions ahead of us,” said Australia’s defense minister on Tuesday. “We’re throwing everything at this difficult, complex task.”
